Embarrassed Embarrassed Embarrassed hi i am using a bandwidth monitor tool which shows the connection speed (DU meter) and i found out that bsnl is providing only 1.3 mbps speed only which is almost half of the plan speed.
i got 2mbps speed for only1 day a week isn't that unfair?

Well, there must be some misunderstanding. BSNL do provide 2 mbps connection but on average you get 1.7 mbps max.
It also depends speed of source from where you download.
Try downloading many files simultaneously and see if still it doesn't come up near 2mbps.

I tested by downloading  different files simultaneously but today connection speed was only 560 kbps and downloading speed 30 kbps.
so you can understand how time will it take to download even a small file.

Can you give me your ADSL line's stats ?
Like SNR up/down and attenuation too ?

Also, I suggest you try to download any famous linux distro as they are mostly with good servers.

The health of you aDSL line can be determined by value provided by your modem.
All the information can be found in your modem.
Modem can be accessed usually typing " 192.168.1.1 on your browser... address may vary modem to modem or on configuration. You may try 192.168.0.1 if above address doesnt work.

With a Quick-Reply you can use bulletin board code and smileys as you would in a normal post, but much more conveniently.
