Hello Friends..

I have a computer which takes too long to boot.
What exactly happens..
when I start computer.. it shows..

Searching for boot records from cdrom .....
Searching boot record from IDE-O..
Press any key when ready...

Boot failure
Reboot and select proper boot device or insert proper boot disc.

After this computers starts and it has windows and can work upon.

It happens when your first boot device is set as CDROM and there is some CD in that which is not bootable.
So it checks that CD for boot records then it move to HDD and then boot from it. So it takes time.

What you need to do is to change boot order to
first --> HDD
Second --> CDROM

That way it will boot faster.

Also if there is some hardware problem in your CD drive then also it takes long.

With a Quick-Reply you can use bulletin board code and smileys as you would in a normal post, but much more conveniently.
