Recently I am seeing this trend growing faster on internet that people are now using Social Bookmarks for their favourite links :
They are actually portable personal place, you can access them from anywhere, from any computer as they are stored on computer for you, also you can make them public or private, which means if you like a page and you bookmarked it then chances are that other people will also see that page and if they too like then will add it in their bookmarks.

Tagging : Tags are basically single words assign to categorize the contents, which means a poem may be tagged as "urdu, hindi, shayari, poetry" ie. it can be part of any of the four given tags. Almost all the 5 services I am describing here will use tags.

Here I am sharing my views that how can you can use your FireFox at its best to manage your bookmarks on them.

Though, there are many social bookmarking sites for that but I am mentioning few ie. 5 of them.
 
1. Digg.com
2. Furl.net
3. del.icio.us
4. Google Bookmarks
5. Technorati

So start with digg,
I am using FireFox Browser which makes things so easy.
You can get firefox from http://www.getfirefox.com

But before doing all, they ask you to register, so you can register with same username - password on all or any you want. I have account on all of them.

HOW TO ADD IN DIGG
---------------------------------
First create account at Digg.com and then after login in goto :
https://addons.mozilla.org/firefox/1477/ (for firefox user) and install that extension or add-on.
After that you will find "Digg it" under Tools in firefox.

Now clicking Digg this will lead to following page :

There add required info whatever you want to add then after few more confirmation it will be then in Social bookmarks at Digg. Now there are chances that many more will see it now.



HOW TO ADD BookMark in FURL.net
------------------------------------------------------
Again open www.furl.net and register their so that they can have personalise services for you.
Then go here --> http://www.furl.net/toolbar/moz.jsp
And install furl toolbar for firefox.
It will add it in Tools --> Furl it (You can also customise your toolbar as it appears in browser, I have added a folder to click it directly)


Then it will send that page to FURL, now you will be asked to enter few information about page..

Press SAVE and its done.

How to ADD in del.icio.us
----------------------------------------

goto http://del.icio.us and create account there.
Now install del.icio.us extension for firefox..
http://del.icio.us/help/firefox/extension
Then you will see following new Menu Group.


Now you can add any page by Clicking "Tag this page" .

Provide additional info and save it.

How to BookMark in Google BookMarks
---------------------------------------------------------

If you have google account then you can use it.
http://www.google.com/bookmarks is its url .
Visit https://addons.mozilla.org/firefox/2448/ for adding it in firefox. After that you will have following new Menu Item in FireFox.

You can then click Add bookmark and will show following , where you add tags for it, seperate with commas to add it in more than one tag.


How to ADD in Technorati.com
In technorati.com you again need to have account there, it is not having proper toolbar or extension for firefox but you can add this in Bookmark toolbar of firefox by dragging "Favourite this" from this page, they have described it there..

Then you will have following in your browser: (note: Favorite this)


Now whenever you want to add a page to favorite then simply click "Favourite this" which will lead you to ..

There add tags and press "Add to favourite"

Also when you right click on any site then you will find that many of the extension are there too and making life more easier.
