For some reason I had to install windows 2k in my computer which was already having windows xp. When I first booted after installation, xP was there but when I select to boot it, it was giving some error
Code:
windows 2000 could not start because the following file is missing or
corrup: \windows\system32\config\systemd
I did fixmbr and fixboot using windows xp installation cd in recovery console but still same error.

This is because system is using ntldr and netdetect.com of windows 2000. All you need to do is copy both from /i386 folder of windows XP cd and copy to C: drive.
