Internet spam is one of the major reason for wastage of resources and time. How many times we lost our important email because the spam. Moreover, many people ended up wasting their money because of spam and the viruses.

Recently the Internet spam reduced to two-third of its original after two US internet service providers cut the internet connections of a company that was using its servers to disseminate billions of unwanted email messages, internet security firms said Friday.

As per Symantec, the number of spam messages had fallen by some 120 billion per day, to around 60 billion a day. But they also warned that the plunge is only temporary, it may arise again as soon as the client / spammers find other routes and resources.

The spam messages were tracked back to Silicon Valley company McColo which were allowing its client to use its servers to do suspicious activities. After researchers found the source they contacted its internet service provider Hurricane Electric and Global Crossing, they promptly discontinued their internet connection.

It is very interesting to see that a major part of world spam was through this provider. Hope researcher's effort will pay off, soon we will see many other sources of spam going down.
