As announced, On February 3rd in Tirupati, the Ministry of Human Resource Development unveiled the ultra low cost computing device which can revolutionized the education in India.

The device was supposed to cost Around Rs. 500, in other world something nearby $10 but currently it cost around $2--$30 but Ministry of HRD is confident that after getting into mass production they will bring its cost down to $10.

The 10ā€ long and 5ā€ wide hand-held device, resembling a palmtop or a modem, helps e-learners access the Web easily. Priced versions of e-content available on the Net can be accessed through this device.

Overall, idea look exciting but the prototype shown is yet to understand.

Looks like it hardly has any features of a laptop. But yes, kudos to the people behind this project. However, I personally feel the budget could have been better utilised in setting up small computer education centers in remote areas to attain the objective on a better scale.

With a Quick-Reply you can use bulletin board code and smileys as you would in a normal post, but much more conveniently.
