I heard that Customer Service of Tata Sky is better than Dish TV. But Dish TV offer more localized channels. Also it has more choices than TaTa Sky.
Basically for South India, Dish TV has better experience and for North India, Tata sky is dominating.

Why don't you see wht channels both are offering and service on demands..

    I have both dishtv and tatasky,  and based on my experience i am giving you the difference and better option to choose:
First: Number of channels are more in dishtv (178) and tatasky (120)
Second: More number of regional channels for all genres. Tatasky lacks in this   
Third: More options in Movie on demand and also choice to see hollywood Movie as well...but Tatasky lacks in this option
Fourth: Cost per movie for movie on demand is less in dishtv Rs.40+taxes for Hindi and Rs.50+taxes for English.....where as tatasky charge Rs.75 for Hindi...No english option...Tata sky lacks here as well.
Fifth: Economical: Dishtv is more economical then tatasky about Rs.1000 also having offer for five months free...but tatasky donot have any offer and are more costlier.
Sixth: Harware of both are same quality.
Seventh: Picture and sound quality is same almost.
Eight: Customer service of dishtv is coming up and having slightly better then tatasky.

 So just check and view demo for both keeping this in mind...you will get your answer...truly dishtv tv is better.

Dishtv’s service is the most horrible in the world.

I am staying Bangalore .
2 weeks back my TV started showing a message “check your smart card”.
I called the customer care manay many times and they asked me to contact local dealer.
The Local delaer redirected Bangalore Distributor- Cosmic infosystems, yet another horrible organistation with no Values for customer!.
Cosmic service agent came to my house and told that the VC card is bad and has to be replaced and it cost Rs.400/- , The funneist part is that he didn’t have a bill/receipt for the new card or his service. He had only ajob card and he will write it in that. If you want a receipt you need to go to their office and they made me go to their office 3 times.
At last I got a card after sitting in their office for hours.

I am seeing first time customer taking for a ride.

I will not recomend any one Dishtv anymore.

DishTV or tatasky Don't make any difference. You need to get full package to get full entertainment. Both are getting stingy over one or other religius channel which I dont like about them.

Well, as said earlier and saying today also.. Dish TV is better..
