Well.. thats really a thing to appreciate that India got its first Individual Gold Medal in Olympics but considering other nation, India is far - far behind of most. There are many things responsible for it.

And those who overcome almost all hurdles.. and reaches height of expertise in their field then later suffer problem of lack of resources.

Certainly, we are competing with world class athletes  / players and for that we also need best in the class support .. means if you want Medal in Olympics .. a very high class arrangment then we should have very high class resources too.. hence money should be spent for players who are competing at international levels.. else do not expect anything !! and do not blame any athlete.

we can't blame an athlete it's our system to be blamed because here future of a sports person is unsure.
because they don't have any future and above all just to take admissions under sports quota most of the time sifarshis are taken and good sports person are left behind(happened with my friend)

This was India best performance in Beijing Olympics. Abhinav Bindra won the first ever individual gold for India and three Indian boxer reached the quarter-finals with one reaching semi-final. Paes-Bhupati also reached the quarter-final of men’s doubles in tennis but break the hopes of all Indians and Saina Nehwal reaching quarter-final of women’s badminton was her greatest effort but unfortunately she could not won the medal. There were so many hopes for medal in Shooting events but nobody can perform best in Beijing.
