Once most selling model of  Maruti- Maruti 800 is now low on sales and to give a new life to the sales, Maruti Suzuki has launched a limited addition, new facelifted model of Maruti 800 as Maruti Suzuki 800 Uniq.  The model's sales fell 12.2% in the domestic market last fiscal even as total car industry sales grew 11.7%.

So may be this new variant launch will help it a little. The Uniq, that will be costlier by Rs 5200 over the regular model, will carry a host of new features like body graphics, all-new beige upholstery, trendy door trims with fabric patch, smart lower console box, rear package tray, to attract young customers.

Though the car is already available as company has already started dispatching but It will be formally available in company showrooms from August 4, 2008. 

Do you think as the launch of TATA Nano is coming near, Maruti thought to sell as much Maruti 800 possible prior Nano's launch as after that it will be even harder to keep sales of M-800.
