Today on Friday, country's largest car maker launched its new large hatchback - Maruti Suzuki Ritz.  Car had already created lots of excitement and initial response of the people for this hatch back seems to be positive.

Maruti Suzuki India launched this  car  in both petrol and diesel variants, offered at an introductory price of Rs 3.90-4.99 lakh.  The car shares common platform of Suzuki Swift which helps company to price it competitively. The Ritz with its new K12 1197cc four-cylinder petrol engine is the first such to be BS IV compliant months before this emission level is mandatory.

In large hatchback segment, its competitors are  Skoda Fabia, Hyundai i120, Tata Indica Vista, and the upcoming Honda Jazz . Ritz can be considered in tall boy design and after Wagon R, those who were looking for similar tall boy design car but with fresh and latest looks then Maruti Suzuki Ritz is a Winner.

Hi Bani,

Yes it can be good replacement for 2002 India. Diesel variant gives decent power of 75PS as well as 21.5 kmpl mileage (test conditions). But if you have  recent Indica Vista then don't bother.
