If we believe the news then Statebank of India and TATA is working on a alliance by which TATA dealers will accept only loan from State Bank of India for TATA Nano. Furthermore, if anyone wants to buy it directly then will need to pay Demand Draft made from State bank of India only.

Currently SBI accounts for network of 13000 branches including its allied banks and when TATA's Nano is soon going to be people's car then why not to have a alliance with people's bank ie. SBI.

Certainly its first of its kind in India, not sure about other countries.  Though the official announcement is not yet made but accept it soon.

Nope.. that is kind of exporting Nano.. and Tata has no plan to export, though you can import it yourself but getting large volume is almost impossible. However, you can contact company to be its dealer.  See what they have to say then.

Tata Nano will be the best selling car in india. As per the price and its news going around that it will be in the top as per the automobile industry in india. Tata Nano's price is very low thats why more chance to be hit in this small car market. And further loans also available too. Thanks for sharing nice information.

Public sector, Bank of India (BoI) that is going to finance the Nano has also decided on the interest rates on booking finance. The bank is going to charge an interest rate of 12% to 12.5% at the booking stage of the vehicle and once the car is delivered to the borrower, BoI can pledge against it and therefore the interest rate will decline to somewhere around 10% to 11%.

Others like State Bank of India (SBI) and Punjab National Bank (PNB) have already signed a deal with Tata Motors for financing the Nano. PNB announced to charge 50 basis points lower interest rate to the Nano buyers. The bank is offering loans for Nano at 10.50% to 11% interest rates. A spokesperson from PNB said, "If the borrower meets with all the eligibility criteria, he will get the lower rate." However the bank has not confirmed on the terms for booking finance.

Booking finance is going to gain importance at this time because during the initial months only 3,000 units of Nano would be rolled out per month. Also it is projected that all those people who have booked the car will not get the allotment at the initial stage. In fact those who have got the allotment will also have to wait for 3 to 4 months for the delivery.

No it's not only SBI you can take loan for the Nano from any bank. The alliance with the SBI is mainly credited to ease the distribution of application form and allotment of limited number of Nanos. Tata Motors also gives you an opportunity to book your Nano online with a discount of Rs 200 on the application form.

With a Quick-Reply you can use bulletin board code and smileys as you would in a normal post, but much more conveniently.
