As nupur said, protein requirements varies person to person and also as per your workout and routine.

Normal person can go for .5 gram to 0.8 gm protein per KG of body weight while sports person and bodybuilder can go upto 2.0 gm of protein per KG of body weight but that is extreme and should have proper utilization as excess of protein can leave disastrous consequences.

On an average, for a normal person 60 gms a day do fine and for a sports person 80-100 gms do good.

I'm not agree with all r here.......

Actually if u think that u r eating a food suppose egg....& if egg contains 6 grams of protein ...than ur body is able to accumulate only 60% of such protein....
Our body consume only whey protein as 100% & than soy ........etc.

For a sports person I suggest 2-2.36 gm protein per KG.........
but in case, person want to increase/decrease weight need for protein differs.....
For sports person, proper check up  of blood urea is required in pre-contest season.......

But those who are just doing for fitness or say amateur then getting urine tests etc. are not viable, so taking protein in safer limits is more practical.. isn't ?

I personally recommend people for all tests atleast once in every six month....so that any hidden disease could be caught....
other things I said abt professional players not for general being.....

With a Quick-Reply you can use bulletin board code and smileys as you would in a normal post, but much more conveniently.
