Five persons were injured after a speeding Blueline bus rammed into a Toyota Qualis car in which they were travelling in east Delhi, the police said Tuesday.

The accident took place near the traffic junction close to the Panch Mahal apartments in Mandawali area early Tuesday morning when Rakesh Kumar, the driver of the bus plying on Route No 473, lost control of the vehicle and hit the car ahead of it.

The inured, Ramesh who owned the car and his four friends, were in an inebriated state when the acident occurred, the police added.

They were admitted to the Lal Bahadur Shastri Hospital and were discharged after first-aid treatment.  "We have registered a case of rash and negligent driving against Rakesh and he has been arrested," a police official said.

In another accident, a 56-year-old man died after being hit by a speeding mini-truck near Shastri Park in northeast Delhi late Monday.

The victim, identified as Somnath, was rushed to a hospital where doctors declared him brought dead.

The police said the driver of the mini-truck managed to escape with the vehicle, which could not be identified yet. A case was registered at the Seelampur police station and investigations were underway

    Ashok..

One more incident that took on Sunday lead to violence in Delhi..

    Here is the news:

A speeding Blueline bus mowed down seven people in New Delhi on Sunday in the worst such disaster blamed on the "killer" fleet, sparking mob fury that halted all traffic on the highway to Agra and forced the police to fire tear gas. The dead included five women, a child and a man.

Eight others, including some who were crossing the road, were injured when the bus ran into a crowd while trying to overtake a stationary Delhi Transport Corp (DTC) bus from the wrong side at Aali Goan, near Badarpur.

The gory scenes of mangled bodies on the road sparked mob fury as hundreds of passers-by stoned the killer bus and tried to set it ablaze and then blocked the Mathura Road that links Delhi with Agra and beyond.

When the police intervened, the mob, by then about 3,000-strong, stoned the security personnel too fuelling clashes. Outnumbered, the policemen used batons and fired tear gas.
