Tata Safari is an heavy vehicle, it has good suspension but you can't drive it fast on uneven surface. Its not bumpy, its just that the place you are driving is too much bumpy..

Infact Safari is one of the competent SUV off-road. If you go with other SUV on same surface then you fill find that how stable safari was as compared to other.

Technical, to drive fast on real uneven surface, the suspension has to be real soft and with greater expansion and vehicle must be light, so I guess Safari won't satisfy you here but if you want to conquer real bad roads but with solid stability then Safari is very good choice.
