Mumbai Batti -Bandh Campaign -the partial Blackout of Mumbai on Dec. 15 for an hour saw a mixed response among Mumbaikars. Initiated by 15 youngsters in the city, this event of Mumbai Unplug came as an encouraging initiative to tackle global warming inspite of creating a lukewarm impact.

Yes, I agree, it didn’t make the impact it should have made, but, it did create awareness in the personal vicinity of Mumbaikars otherwise it is really difficult to get them out of their own shelves of bourses and burdens. If you really look at the positive side of this global warming campaign, you would notice that it didn’t go unnoticed and noticing anything in Mumbai is really of great importance. The only intention here was to create awareness and nothing else, although it might have served the purpose of saving electricity.

But still, strong marketing, management and participation are needed to make such an event successful. In today’s globalization, the word global itself reminds us of marketing and communication which can make us socially active in every aspect. So why shouldn’t we follow the meaning of the world itself and go ahead with it? In this regard, we have to go through the problem profoundly and analyze it as another personal problem.

Global warming is not the problem which lays an instant outcome like other problems, but, it is the problem which can paralyze us at an instant. So the need of hour is the promotion of such events everywhere because global warming is such an issue which is dealt locally for a greater attention.

You can contribute in stopping Global warming by consuming moderate amount of anything which produces CO2 like less usage refrigerators, controlling industrial products, reducing pollutin and following standard norms decided by Kyoto Protocol in favr of environment protection whose details you can get anywhere.
