Nandan Nilekani journey start from Zero Wealth to Billionaire now  turns a Public Servant.

Well known Personality Nandan Nilekani the CEO of Infosys gets a call from Prime Minister Man Mohan Singh to join the planning mission.

According to the source Nandan was about to decline the job offered by PM but the conversation with PM lit the idea of holding Public office, of being an effective change agent, and he mulled it.

Nandan’s Main interest outside of Infosys has been in urban governance and the project to give every Indian an ID car dovetails into his Personal interest.

CII welcomed the government announcement on creating UID authority of India , under the aegis of the planning Commission, and began the process of allocating unique identification number to the citizens of India.

CII acknowledged the move to appoint Nandan Nilekani to lead this initiative, and said that Nilekani's technological acumen and managerial prowess will help deliver a project of this magnitude. 

The offer from the PM to join his team came at the right time for Nandan Nilekani. At 54, with many years of active life ahead of time and his peak corporate career behind him and now he is ready for the change.
