Today I was pleased to know that govt. has finally taken a step to increase pay for the troops who are at higher altitudes as well as in extreme conditions.

The increase is that if a an officer is drawing HA allowance of Rs 1600 shall get now Rs. 5600 & Jawan drawing Rs. 270 to Rs. 400 should get Rs. 3784.

Moreover all troops shall have 2 free railway trip through out the country (earlier was one) .

I was always a heavy supporter that Indian troops and army personals are always being underpaid, we should take proper measures to understand and to maintain the spirits in Jawans. Though this is only for Army but I also say same for Polices and other departments of public serving forces.

    It will encourage
    1. It will help  jawans to feel more important.
    2. It will help them to be more devoted towards their work.
    3. Ofcourse financially lessening their burden.
    4. Can also encourage more people to Join Army.

Do we should expect  more from Govt. ?

Well, ricky you are right. The pay is increasing after the implementations of certain commitees and five yr plan. It will and is definately a great booster for the morale of our Troops fighting bravely in the siachen, high altitudes and in the border areas away from their near and dear ones. The support of civil public is seen and heard only during the War moments due to the media and publications, otherwise there is a Great amount of Respect that these Men Command not only in their units or regiments but in the hearts of our indians.
