Miss Universe 2008, one of the biggest beauty and fashion activity, the 57th Miss Universe beauty pageant, was held at the Crown Convention Center (Diamond Bay Resort) in Nha Trang, Vietnam. The Contest was won by Miss Venezuela Dayana Mendoza. One of the interesting fact about Miss Universe Dayana Mendoza is that she said she was kidnapped 18 months ago in Venezuela, an experience that taught her how to remain calm in stressful situations.

"It is something that happens in my country and that's why I want to raise my voice and say violence is not the answer," she said when asked about the incident.

One of the other interesting fact about the contest was that Esha Koppikhar one of the judge at this Gala. Apparently she is first Indian actress to be part of jury of Miss Universe Contest.
