    Shilpa wins Big Brother

    Bollywood actress Shilpa Shetty has won Celebrity Big Brother.

    Shetty became star of the show after being plunged into a race row which made the programme international news.

    Even India was drawn into the controversy after Shetty was subjected to alleged racist bullying by fellow contestants including Jade Goody.

    Shetty screamed in delight on receiving the news of her victory, while Jermaine Jackson, elder brother of singer Michael, finished second.

    Dirk Benedict, famous for being on cult show The A-Team, was third.

    Jade sparked allegations of racism by calling Shetty, 'Shilpa Poppadom' while her mother Jackiey claimed she could not pronounce the star's name and instead referred to her as "the Indian".

    The row prompted a record number of complaints - more than 40,000 - to media watchdog Ofcom.

    Shilpa is an Indian Star with real INTERNATIONAL recognition. She had proved to be an Indian in all means and her values were primary. Cheers for Shipla Shetty.
