    A news today .........

A blow to India's chances in the Thomas and Uber Cup qualifiers this month, the national camp for the preparation of prestigious tournaments scheduled in Goa from tomorrow has been called off due to unavailability of shuttlecocks.
Bandminton Association of India laid the blame squarely on the Sports Authority of India and the Ministry,  saying the association has been running  pillar to post for the last five months to get the shuttlecocks in time but SAI has failed to provide them.
All shuttlers who had reached the camp were asked to packe off and return to home.

Another news today from different newspaper:

Samresh Jung, an olympics qualifier shooter from India but he   is has nothing to do.. reason .. there is no good shooting range as well as shortage of ammunitions.
Not to forget that there is coming "World shooting championship" this April as well as Olympics in August.. but Samresh says that he  do not expect much for him in both as practice severely hampered. He adds that he has given his training schedule to Govt. but still no action, moreover Govt. mostly takes required steps only at end and leaving now room for preparation and practicing.

He said that many times they are asked to arrange ammunition themselves which leads them to huge debt, sometimes in crores.

This is just a glimpse that how we are getting affected everywhere by this form of work of Govt. How we can expect our players to perform well in so much competitive games where other countries are using every possible aid including scientific research to get best out of their players.. where in India players are failing to even get the basic facilities.

Not to mention , we are always among last in terms of various sports performance. .. be it Olympics or other tournaments.

    Who is really responsible ?

very interesting post. I think its a culture of lowered expectations when it comes to the vast majority of sports. Lack of success on world level might be caused by lack of resources to millions of potential star athletes.

There is steep competition and at international level, one cannot support even little ignorance.
And I always wondered that why India get so less medals in olympics in despite of huge population.
Aren't we having any sportsman aut of millions Indians ?
But Alas! we do not get proper resources and those who manage to be even on these condition then they do not get proper support at higher levels.
