The much awaited  3G and WiMAX policy seems to be over as the Communications Minister, A Raja announced that the final policy guidelines may be announced within a week''s time. We know that its been in talk for long and India is expected to be biggest WiMAX market in Asia once this service starts.

"Broad guidelines for 3G have been devised and they need some inputs from the Finance Ministry and after that the guidelines will be sent to the Telecom Commission and I expect the norms to be announced within a week," said Raja.

He said that broad consultations with the Finance Ministry is required as the finance ministry has a say in DoT's policy making cell, the Telecom Commission.
