    If you buy anything from a shop, catalogue or even the internet and there's something wrong with it, then you've got a right to do something about it.

    and this something means ... you can either return the goods you have bought / refund / can even go to the court and claim compensation.

    BUT .....

    unfortunately ... this concept is a thing far from even the thoughts of the consumers / the end product buyer.

    why don't we in INDIA have consumer rights ... Huh

    is it because of corrupt government / uneducated public / misguiding businessmen. ??

    India is having consumer right, well defined consumer forum too but the issue is of General Awareness. People are not aware about their rights and rather they are not made awared.

    Most of the time information provided is more confusing than informative. Moreover people think that going court is something which has to be avoided.
    No surprise, we find cases pending in courts from 10s of years thus they too demotivate people to into  the consumer court.

    Yes..We have consumer forum in India and full rights, but people are either not aware or are too laidback.

    but as far as i remember ... the retailers ... cleary refuse to exchange / return the goods ... rather they say ..

    fashion ki is badalte dur main garuntee ke aasha na kare.

    and they r proud of it.
