???i was not sure in which section to put this question so i am putting it here.
I am living in punjab where farmers feed their crops by underground water and due to increased amount of water being withdrawn water level in punjab has degrade to a lowest level.
and to prevent further loss PUNJAB govt. has ordred farmers to grow puddy crop(rice) which needs lot of standing water only after 15 may so that monsoons can feed the fields and less amount of water to be taken uot from ground.
by this step punjab may be able to  save water for future use.
now my question is that is water all over the INDIA interconnected like an underground sea. or they are seperated by something like land between two lakes. Is water beneath earth flowing or standing still. and if my adjoining states like HARYANA's water level will affect in any manner punjab's water level and vice-versa.
